Week 9 WCHA Web Media Poll Analysis

It finally happened: Michigan Tech got a first-place vote. Not only did Bemidji only get nine first-place votes this week, the tenth vote was for fourth place. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Formerly-dead-last-in-the-country Princeton had not won an NCAA game until they traveled to and swept Bemidji, who were previously #3 in the country and have now dropped to hanging-on-for-dear-life #15.

Notably, though, the standings of our poll have not actually changed. Lake Superior nearly managed to pass Ferris State this week, and a solid performance next week against Bowling Green could seal that deal. More importantly, however, look to the games between Bemidji and Michigan Tech to be the real fight of the week as the Huskies set out to get revenge on a Beaver side that single-handedly screwed up the PWR of every WCHA team with hopes of an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
