Angus Redmond's spectacular freshman season continues with his recognition as WCHA Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Alaska Nanooks this weekend. His performance helped the Huskies complete the sweep by allowing only one goal in each game and stopping 48 shots on the weekend. Redmond leads all qualified Division 1 goaltenders (playing a minimum of 33% of a team's minutes) with his 1.46 goals against season average.
The Langley, British Columbia native is also tenth nationally with a save percentage of 0.933, while in conference games, Redmond trails only Mike Bitzer in both GAA and save percentage. The Huskies host Bitzer and the league leading Bemidji State Beavers this weekend, who head to Houghton after a being swept at home by Princeton in a disappointing weekend.
