Lucchini and Redmond Recognized by WCHA

Jake Lucchini and Angus Redmond received weekly awards from the WCHA this week. Lucchini was recognized as Offensive Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in back to back nights against Bowling Green. After falling behind 1-0 in both games, the Huskies rebounded thanks to Lucchini's performance including an assist on Friday's game-tying goal and scoring a short-handed goal for the lead on Friday. Lucchini is well deserving of a new nickname, "Mr. Clutch," as he now leading the country in game-winning goals with five.

Angus Redmond has continued his stellar performance this season stopping 47 of 49 shots on the weekend, earning him yet another WCHA Rookie of the Week nod. The one negative was the fact that both goals allowed were the first of the game, but the team responded and he shut down the Falcons after the first goal both nights. It was a tense weekend for MTU fans with no scoring in the first period either night. Redmond is now top-six nationally in save percentage (0.937 - 4th), win percentage (0.821 - 6th), and goals against average (1.40 - 1st).

This is Lucchini's first, Redmond's fourth and Michigan Tech's seventh WCHA honor of the season:
