When we registered our domain name on Oct. 27th, 2010, it was just weeks into what would be the final season of the Russell era. It was a time when nostalgia was enduring, pride was waning, and significant investments in facilities weren’t producing results on the ice. We started Tech Hockey Guide with the mission of improving coverage of the Huskies and highlighting the great history of the program. At that time we chose silhouettes of the trophies that were earned by the Huskies of yesteryear. Currently only seven teams can lay claim to more championships.
The three trophy logo served us well for the first seven years of Tech Hockey Guide. Now, it is time for a refreshed—albeit nostalgic—look for our mark. We found inspiration for our new logo in one of the memorable spirit marks in Huskies History, the venerable “slant” MTU seen above, seen in the MacInnes Ice Arena from the early 1970’s until 1999.
Along with our new logo we’ve moved to a new host and look for our website. This move will enable us to expand our coverage and provide more interactive opportunities like our bracket challenge or PairWise Predictor.
We look forward to continuing coverage of Huskies hockey this season and seasons to come. Stay tuned for great things to come.
