It was announced a couple weeks ago that the 57th Great Lakes Invitational in Grand Rapids Michigan will be broadcast on Fox UP. This was a very cool development for Michigan Tech fans because it will allow fans throughout the UP and beyond to watch the tournament without FloHockey. While Flo Sports has been a good partner for Michigan Tech, as both CCHA and GLIAC games are broadcast there, the price point of $150/year is awfully steep for more causal fans.

Where to Watch on TV

WLUC-TV, which serves as both the NBC and FOX affliate for most of the UP, is owned Gray Television which owns around 180 stations in 113 markets. This allows easy cross over broadcasting for other markets that are interested. As of this publication, the following markets have announced their intentions to broadcast part or all of the 2023 Great Lakes Invitational:

  • FoxUP 6.2
  • WILX-TV Lansing 10.1
  • KMOX St Louis, MO 4.2
  • KBJR Duluth 9.3
  • KCRG Cedar Rapids IA 9.2
  • KTUU Anchorage 2.2
  • KTVF Fairbanks 12.2

How to Stream/Listen

As part of the agreement to broadcast the games on Fox UP, they will also be streamed on uppermichiganssource.com and via the TV6+ Roku Channel. For those that have a Flo Sports subscription, the games will also be available there. As always the Michigan Tech games will be available to listen on WKMJ 93.5 and through pasty.net.
