Per his twitter, Michigan Tech has received a commitment from former Harvard goaltender Derek Mullahy out of the transfer portal. Mullahy has appeared in 30 games for the Crimson over the past 3 seasons, posting a 2.69 GAA and a .903 Save Percentage. Mullahy flashed high potential as Mitchell Gibson’s backup from 2021 to 2023, but faltered when given an opportunity to be the go-to option this past season. Mullahy will head to Houghton hoping to compete for playing time with Max Vayrynen, the Huskies lone returning goaltender and next season’s presumed starter.
Mullahy is a graduate transfer, and thus has one year of eligibility remaining.
