October 18, 2003 is a day that will live in Michigan Tech hockey history. If the Huskies Pep Band is to be considered the heart of Michigan Tech hockey, that was the day on which the veins and lifeblood of the program was born. It was on this day that our Huskies would come back from a 6-1 deficit to win 7-6 against the Northern Michigan Wildcats. More importantly, Tim Braun had the shirt removal heard ’round the world that spawned what has come to be known as Mitch’s Misfits.

In order to celebrate Mitch’s Misfits turning old enough to enjoy its first adult beverage, we here at Tech Hockey Guide would like to invite all past and present Misfits back to Houghton for the Clarkson series (October 25th and 26th, 2024) to cheer on the Huskies like students one more time. Tech Hockey Guide is working to secure tickets in Section K (located next to the Misfits). The students will be leading the charge, but we will be lending another section of voices (and cowbells, flags, etc.) to the cause.

In addition to the games, Tech Hockey Guide is working to secure ice time at The Dee for a friendly pickup hockey game with students and alumni.

Pricing for the event and the alumni/student hockey game are still being worked out. Once you sign up, we will communicate out more information as it is known.

Signup for the event can be found HERE.

We hope to see you there!
